No Matter What I Go Through, God Is Still Good

Dorothy Anne Field Updated November 30, 2019 Thomas Vitali Dorothy Anne Field Updated November 30, 2019 Thomas Vitali Dear God, I may not understand everything that’s happening in my life right now, but I’m choosing to hold on to the fact that everything has a purpose. I may be overwhelmed with questions as to why certain things are happening in my life, but my faith is not dependent on my feelings. This season of pain and struggle in my life is proof that You are still good and You are with me every step of the way. I know that I have a lot of questions filled with doubt and fear, and I’m trying my best not to have the …

Experience: I survived a boating accident that killed my family

My brother was shouting that water was coming in. Then we were tipped into the sea It happened so fast. One minute I was at the helm, steering our little boat across the calm expanse of Melbournes Western Port Bay. The next, the acceleration cut and my 16-year-old brother, Bill, was shouting that water was coming in. Our leisurely family boat trip had turned into a disaster in the space of 30 seconds. Our boat sank and my mum, dad, Bill and me were tipped into the sea. It was later found that the bottom of the boat was completely rotten. It just wasnt visible to the naked eye. Shocked and unprepared, we had no option but to start swimming. …

Original Content podcast: Reasons to be thankful for streaming and Star Wars

Since it’s a holiday week for those of us in the United States, we’ve put together an (even more) unstructured episode of the Original Content podcast. Among other things, this gives us a chance to update our initial review of “The Mandalorian” by acknowledging the Disney+ show’s breakout character, known unofficially as Baby Yoda — maybe that counts as a spoiler, but he’s all over social media already, and he’s even the subject of new Disney merchandise that seems to have been rushed into production. Beyond our “Mandalorian” catch-up, Star Wars comes up again during our discussion of things from the streaming and entertainment world that we’re thankful for. Despite some behind-the-scenes turmoil, the Disney era at Lucasfilm has brought …

Is he fast asleep? Is he talking to some other girl? Is he purposely ignoring you? Even though it’s tempting to try to figure out the reason behind him going MIA, at the end of the day, it doesn’t really matter what’s going on with him. It only matters whether he eventually answers you or ignores you, whether he wants to put effort into a conversation with you or not. 2. How food media brand Chefclub reached 1 billion organic views per month

Chefclub hasn’t attracted a lot of headlines over the years as it has only raised $3.5 million. But it is slowly building a major media brand on social media platforms as it now competes directly with Tastemade and Tasty. Compared to more traditional recipe websites and brands, Chefclub focuses exclusively on the intersection of food and entertainment. If you’ve watched a few Chefclub videos, your reaction is probably something along the lines of “oh no they didn’t.” You’ll see a lot of melted cheese, and somehow cooking often involves deep frying all the things. Some people around me are obsessed with those videos even though they’d never consider watching a cooking show on TV. “We are normal people, we don’t …

Its Been 25 Years Since California’s Prop. 187but It Never Really Went Away

In the Southwest, every quarter-century or thereabouts, Mexican-Americans get messed with by the White Man. Thats what I plan to tell my kidsages 10, 12, 14when the time comes to have the race talk. Before they graduate high school, I intend to lay out the facts of life for the estimated 30 to 35 million Mexicans and Mexican-Americans in this country. They should know that, as U.S. citizens, they live in the greatest country in human history, that they have unlimited opportunities, that hard work and perseverance pays off, and that they should avoid playing the victim. But they should also be aware thatalong with the constant annoyance of being of two worlds but belonging to neither, the oddity of …
